When and where the tournament will be staged?

The 25th IHF Men’s Junior (U21) World Handball Championship will take place from June 18 (opening match) to June 29 (final) 2025 in Poland. The tournament will be held in Sosnowiec (Arena Sosnowiec), Katowice (Arena Katowice), Płock (ORLEN Arena), and Kielce (Hala Legionów). Where can I find the schedule of the tournament?

During the 25th IHF Men’s Junior (U21) World Handball Championship, a total of 116 matches will be played over 12 days, featuring 32 teams. The complete tournament schedule, available for download and printing, can be found HERE.

Where will play the Polish national team?

The Polish national team will play the group stage in Płock, where the Poles will compete in Group A against Uruguay, Slovenia, and Norway. The matches are scheduled for June 18, 20, and 21 at 6:30 PM. In the second phase of the tournament, Group A will merge with Group B. During this stage, the Poles will remain in Płock before moving to Sosnowiec for the final round matches. The decisive medal matches will take place in Katowice.

 

What is the format of the competition?

Eight groups of four teams each await competition in the preliminary round. Promotion to the main round will be granted for the two best teams from each group. The remaining teams will face competition for the IHF President’s Cup.

The teams that obtain promotion to the main round will form another four groups of four teams each (keeping the points earned against teams that also advanced). And again – the two best teams will advance to the quarterfinals, and the next two will be playing for places 9-16.

What is the IHF President's Cup?
The IHF President’s Cup is a competition for teams that do not qualify to play in the main round. This competition gives teams the opportunity to play additional matches to enhance their international experience and fight for the 17th place in the tournament.

 

How can I buy tickets for the matches?

The official ticket distribution partner for the championship is the platform www.eventim.pl. Tickets for all matches—regardless of the tournament stage or venue—are available at the price of 10 PLN. Each ticket grants access to an entire matchday at a given venue (i.e., it is not possible to purchase a ticket for a single match, only for the full day). There will be no on-site ticket sales at the venues, and no discounted tickets are available. Tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE.

 

Are group tickets available?

We have prepared a special offer for school-aged youth under 18, organized in groups from educational institutions, sports clubs, and other organizations working with young people. Students will be able to attend matches for a symbolic price of 1 PLN. The only requirement is participation as part of a group consisting of at least 10 people. More information can be found HERE.

Are tickets available for people with disabilities?

How can I apply for media accreditation?
Can I become a volunteer for the tournament?
